We're thrilled to present his first original single on Silk Digital, a stunning collaborative project with top 10 Billboard vocalist and songwriter Fawn.

The release also comes equipped with remixes by two heavyweight remixers: meHiLove and G-Tek, both of whom have contributed to Silk on various occasions in the past. The Original Mix of "Solitude" is a poetic and poignant dance "ballad," which magically combines the synthetic elements of deep and progressive house with the acoustic sounds of jazz and classical, lyrics-driven songwriting. A soothing, after-hours deep house beat and a few moody pads set the stage for Fawn's smoky, "noir" opening verse. Her voice is beautifully pitched, but also has a playful indifference, which works brilliantly with the chilled and contemplative vibe of the instrumentation. After the opening verse, the titular "in your solitude" refrain arrives -- it's an infectious hook that will remain with the listener long after the song ends. The main break features "echoes" of these lyrics, as well as an absolutely breathtaking piano instrumental. Both lead into an elegant "drop," in which Digital Sixable's various piano hooks and atmospheric effects dance along with Fawn's memorable lyrics.

On remix detail, we are excited to welcome Ukrainian sensation MeHiLove to Silk Digital; he has appeared on other Silk divisions under this name (his main alias), as well as his real name, Yuriy Mikhailov, but never before on our parent label. With a discography that boasts various tracks on Armada and Perfecto, as well as radio support by Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond, and many more, MehiLove has already amassed an impressive litany of career accolades. He offers both a vocal and dub rendering here, both of which, as to be expected, provide a more uplifting, progressive vibe to the tune. Each features a gorgeous side-chained pad, which infuses the track with an overflowing radiance. Meanwhile, in the vocal version, Fawn's vocal is processed with a lush reverb and delay. Also throughout each, MeHiLove has written mellifluous new piano lines, which greatly enhance the emotional resonance. Finally, we are thrilled to once again feature Panamanian star G-Tek, who has worked with Silk Digital since our imprint's earliest days. With numerous classic originals and remixes in his storied career, which has included radio support from Paul Oakenfold, Myon and Shane 54, Solarstone, Marcus Schossow, and many others, G-Tek has remained one of our most reliable contributors for elegant peak-hour progressive.

His remix here explodes out of the gate with a punchy kick/snare combo and an absolutely rapturous chord progression, which sits atop a funky, head-bopping groove. Vocal and Dub Mix fans will be able to "pick their poison," as G-Tek offers both options in this package. In the vocal mix, Fawn's voice has never sounded better: each beautiful phrase glides along with the beat and is given ample space to "breathe," in the context of the overall mix. In the "Instrumental Mix," full lyrics are replaced with futuristic, trance-influenced vox stab sequences. Yet, it's worth reiterating that the highlight of this interpretation is the regular appearance of truly euphoric chords, which are nearly guaranteed to brighten the listener's mood and elicit a strong dancefloor reaction.

Fawn, Fawn Recording Artist New Release with Digital Sixable

Fawn's song "Solitude" produced by Digital Sixable will be released on April 23rd on Sofa Silk Music.

On Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 from 7-11pm, the Hollywood horror community assembled for the third Carnival of Darkness film festival. Held in the ultra modern Los Angeles Film School Theater, the Carnival began with a Blood Red Carpet where filmmakers and stars were ready to get their scare on.

From the very first film, it was clear that this film festival was all about showcasing quality work. Film goers paid $12 a ticket to experience several notable films, each exploring horror and science fiction in ways you usually wouldn't see at a multiplex. "The Hike" was an early standout, about a group of 20-somethings who discover a mysterious metal box in the middle of a forest strewn with bones, featuring General Hospital favorite actress, Emily Wilson. An absolutely gorgeous film was "The Captured Bird.” Filled with surreal imagery such as floating blue bug monsters and an enormous Palace-like dwelling, they're all at the mercy of one powerful little girl.

Half way through the festival, we were treated to an incredible panel of stars and filmmakers, moderated by Dai Green. On the panel were organizer and filmmaker Alex Bram, actress Tara Cardinal, filmmaker Drew Daywalt and the legendary actress Veronica Cartwright. It was tough not to be enraptured as Veronica told stories about working with Alfred Hitchcock as a 12 year old child actress in "The Birds, Jeff Goldblum in “Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" and with Ridley Scott on "Alien." She was quite funny, humble and extremely interested in the others on the panel, even asking them questions about their films.

During the second set of films, there were some amazing shorts. "The Gift," "The Guest," "Behind You" and "Blue Hole" were standouts. "Meat" was a cute micro-short about a pair if hunters and their magical kill. Things wrapped up with a real coup. A very familiar actor to those into science fiction, Kier Dullea, peered from behind a computer and walked into a modern Victorian bay, where a giant, shiny black egg rested. Once there, he opened it and stepped inside. A micro tribute to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

At the end of the evening, Alex Bram announced the winner of “The Thrill Ride” award, which went to the film, "Behind You." This film was about a really tough woman and the demon that haunts her. All in all, this film festival was a stellar success. Notables in attendance were Actors Juliet Landau, Emily Wilson, Veronica Cartwright, Dee Dee Bigelow, Tara Cardinal, Paul Solet, Trent Haaga and Ryan Karloff, Hit Billboard Singer/Songwriter Fawn, Film maker Drew Daywalt, Horror Author John Palisano, Writer and Producer Jeffrey Reddick. Food and other auction items were provided by Alternative Outfitters, ecoVegan, Frey Vineyards, Gourmet Body Treats, Lush, Mt Beautiful Vineyards, Native Foods Café, Paul Mitchell, Sjaak’s Chocolates, Soaptopia, Uncle Eddie's Vegan Cookies, Veggie Grill, Vegin'Out Vegan Meal Home Delivery Service and Kim Saxelby of True Emotions Photography.
After the silent auction, video footage of ADI’s rescue of several Lion’s from Bolivia Circuses, and a preview of scenes from their upcoming all-action documentary film, Lion’s Ark The Movie, was shown. After the footage and stories of the undercover investigations, animal seizures, rescues and final journey to freedom were viewed there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Whether it was tears of sadness, or tears of joy from ADI’s impressive accomplishments in stopping animal abuse, it was clear that the audience was profoundly moved. After all, closing every Circus in Bolivia, and rescuing every single animal, is not an easy feat. But ADI has accomplished just that.

Creamer said that Bob Barker was “chosen not only for a lifetime of service, but for his generosity and for repeatedly taking the animal message to Congress.” The former Price Is Right icon received loud cheers as he accepted the 2012 International Lord Houghton Award for Services to Animal Welfare. Barker was genuinely thrilled and touched, stating, “ADI is one of the finest animal protection organizations in Europe.”

About Toto:

They found Toto chained by the neck with a circus in Chile. His body was covered in cigarette burns because they made him smoke during the act and people would throw lit cigarettes at him. He'd been torn from the wild and had been alone for over 20 years. ADI took him home to Africa and reunited him with his own kind. Lion Ark Night is more than a great night out, it's about cutting the chains of animals like Toto.

On Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 4:15-7:15pm hundreds of zombies took over the streets of Hollywood for the 4th Annual Hollywood Subway Zombie Walk. Around 600 people dressed as zombies, met up at the North Hollywood Metro Red Line, bought train fare, boarded the subway train to Hollywood and Highland, then proceeded to walk up and down Hollywood Blvd. Pretty impressive for a bunch of dead people to do all that.

Organized by Jeff Schiffman, invites went out on Facebook with 623 stating that they were going. All ages were found walking dead. The youngest was 4 years old. Leo Palisano, age 6 was a zombie resembling Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. When asked if he was having fun as a zombie, he shyly replied “Yep.”

There were prom queens zombies, business men zombies, baseball athlete zombies, housewife zombies in curlers, mom, dad and child zombies, birthday party zombies, Marilyn Monroe zombies, dancing zombies, Dr. zombies, nurse zombies and even a Beethoven zombie. Reactions were varied from unsuspecting tourists, by standers and store owners, as the dead moaned, groaned and walked slowly in a dazed state, often reaching their arms out towards living people.

The first zombie walk on record took place August 19, 2001 in Sacramento, California and was billed as a “Zombie Parade.” Since then the idea has spread all over the world, and is wildly popular in the United States.
